There's a 6' wide bridge on the Timm's
Hill Trail, so
my Tidd Tech has to be able to fit across that. It's also handy to be
able to fold up one or both of the wings and/or flaps to get various widths
depending on snow conditions.
My normal grooming set-up is with
both wings down, the flap
on the edge of the trail folded up and the flap to the middle of the trail
down. This allows the Tidd Tech and teeth to groom to the edge of the
trail, while the flap in the middle provides extra coverage and a smooth
transition on multiple passes.
The wings & flaps are held up and
down by spring loaded latches (see the red
pins
in the picture), eliminating the need for hitch pins and cotter
pins. This makes it faster and easier to raise and lower them,
especially in the cold and dark when they're covered with snow.
