Internal Runners
The internal runners are in the middle of the Tidd Tech. They are spring loaded and keep the Tidd Tech tracking straight. They are very effective in deep snow when the skid plates on the back corners aren't in contact with the hard trail surface.
In the picture above, the runner on the left is down and the runner on the right is up.
The latches lock the internal runners in the up or down position. The springs keep them down in the snow, but allow them to push up for road crossings.
